This reimagining of the IWC Ingenieur is a tribute to the legendary Mercedez-Benz Silver Arrow, which dominated motor racing for decades.

The Chronograph Silberpfeil is built on the same platform as the Chronograph Racer. This means a flyback chronograph movement housed in a 45mm steel Ingenieur case. The flyback chronograph also features its minutes and hours indicators on one subdial at 12 o’clock, which allows you to easily read off elapsed time just like you would read the time normally. There is also a tachymeter scale and a hacking seconds register at 6 o’clock that also houses a small date window.

There are two variations of the Silberpfeil, one with a silver-plated perlage dial (as seen here in this offered model) and the other with a brown perlage dial. Both come on rubberized straps featuring brown leather inlays, and the casebacks are decorated with the Mercedez-Benz Silver Arrow. Only 1000 pieces were produced in each color, and the price is $13,100 retail for both.
